With All The Attention On Meghan, Almost No One Notice Kate Middleton’s Upcoming Title Change! You’ll Be Thrilled To Hear Her New Name

June 26, 2018

Since Fall of 2017, the world has joined along in planning and preparing the Royal Family’s two newest members: Meghan Markle and Prince Louis. With Prince Louis spending almost all of his days inside Kensington Palace, the new Duchess of Sussex has made several debuts as an official Royal.

Much of Meghan’s entry into the Royal Family has highlighted her fiancé’s dearly missed mother, Princess Diana. Prince Harry and Meghan made sure to incorporate his mother into their marriage as much as they could; Meghan’s engagement ring honors Princess Di as well as her wedding day bouquet. We’re excited to see how else Harry and Meghan honor the late princess going forward.

While much of the focus has been on the new Duchess of Sussex, it is Kate who will hold the ultimate honor of Princess Diana.

Apart from Kate being the one to marry the future king and Diana’s firstborn, and Kate wearing Princess Diana’s original engagement ring from Prince Charles, she will also share another unique treasure from the former Princess of Wales.

Currently, Kate Middleton holds the official “Duchess of Cambridge” title. However, once Queen Elizabeth is no longer the reigning monarch, William and Kate will no longer be the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Instead, they will be the Prince and Princess of Wales.

Kate will be extended the official title of “Princess of Wales.”

Born Diana Spencer in 1961, Diana was then given her first official title: Lady Diana Spencer in 1975. Once she married Prince Charles in 1981, she was minted Her Royal Highness Princess Diana of Wales.

After she separated from Prince Charles, she was stripped of her Royal title. However, because of her great impact on the world, she was still referred to as “The People’s Princess” and even today, she is referred to as “Princess Diana.”

Even though Charles married to Camilla Parker Bowles after Diana, Camilla refrained from sharing the title of “Princess of Wales” out of respect. Rather, she accepted the title of “Duchess of Cornwall.”

The transition of Kate’s newest title is a bittersweet subject as it will only come to fruition byways of major transition in the Royal Family. What do you think about Kate being the Princess of Wales? How do you think Diana and Kate would get along today if Diana were still here?
