March 12, 2018, marks a historic day for Americans and Brits alike. Meghan Markle and Queen Elizabeth II made their first ever royal appearance together to honor Commonwealth Day at Westminster Abbey in London.
This is the first recorded public outing with Ms. Markle and Queen Elizabeth. Typically, this event would be reserved only for official royal members, however, Her Majesty was very clear that she wanted Meghan Markle to join.
Meghan arrived at Westminster Abbey alongside her fiancé, Prince Harry, and her future siblings the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall were also in attendance.
Meghan looked perfectly prepared for the historic outing in a stunning white dress coat and white hat.
Royal correspondent, Rosa Nikkhah, shared that Meghan’s invitation to Commonwealth Day did not come as a surprise to advisors and royal family members. She shared “She is already effectively being treated as a full-blown member of the royal family, even if she hasn't married Prince Harry yet. I think that gives you an indication of just how warmly she has been welcomed into the fold, but also effectively she is living as a member of the royal family.”
While many tabloids hint at drama and concerns of her welcome into the royal family, Rosa’s comment regarding her welcome indicates that Meghan is, in fact, being welcomed with open arms. Contrary to popular belief, Meghan addition is exciting for all.
Meghan is being embraced by her Prince Harry’s family and the British public. Their wedding on May 19th, 2018 is set the be an international day of celebration.
