Never before has the Queen attended a London Fashion Week event. This year, she made a new tradition, appearing front and center to see some of today’s haute couture. She was in good company, too. Vogue magazine editor-in-chief Anna Wintour sat to her left and the two appeared to be quite chummy.
Earlier in the day, Her Majesty The Queen toured some of the designers’ showrooms, and then made her way to the main event.
After watching the models strut the catwalk, the Queen took to the stage to present the first-annual Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design.
Queen Elizabeth is known for always wearing the most fashionable ensembles and never fails to wow. She is the epitome of impeccable style and grace with her always classy couture. Always appearing in colorful and flattering designs that are fit for a Queen!
And then we have these:
At this type of event, the clothes are always way-out and above and beyond what your average woman would likely wear. But the Queen kept her composure even when the most outlandish designs passed in front of her.
The 92-year-old Monarch seemed truly thrilled when she had the honor of presenting the coveted award to the designer, Richard Quinn, who managed to make a faux pas by not removing his hat in The Queen’s presence. Oops!!
You would never know it, though, as the Queen carried on as though nothing were amiss. That’s what you call breeding and class - the Queen, not Mr. Quinn!
