Tragedy has struck the American Idol family. One of the hit television series’ most famous faces, Randy Jackson, recently made an announcement that he could never have imagined making.
After a four year battle, he and his estranged wife, Erika Riker, have officially divorced. In 2014, Riker officially filed for divorce on the grounds of irreconcilable differences. Now, four years following the filing, the judge has officially signed off on the papers.
Together, Jackson and Riker share two children: 23-year-old daughter, Zoe, and 21-year-old son, Jordan.
A close family insider was able to get the scoop on Jackson’s feelings about the situation. “Randy is bummed out. It’s not the way he wanted it to happen or end.”
Sadly, this isn’t the first divorce Jackson has endured. In 1990, he experienced his first divorce from a woman named Elizabeth. Together, they share one daughter, 29-year-old Taylor.
While this is no way a family ever wants to end, we do hope that through this trialing time they will find peace in the outcome. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family as they navigate this new season of their lives.
