Recently, Roseanne Barr has re-entered the Hollywood headlines and her familiar face is giving everyone true nostalgia. With her popular television show, “Roseanne” coming back to air, fans across the globe are gearing up for the return of the family comedy that they all know and love.
Roseanne Barr is known for so much; she is a talented actress, comedian, scriptwriter, and a television producer. After doing small-scale comedy performances, her self-titled show, Roseanne, introduced her a much larger fan-base. The show ran for nearly 10 years and after a 21-year hiatus, it’s finally returning to television!
As her career begins taking off for the second time, Roseanne has shared that this time around the road to Hollywood has been a little more difficult. A couple years ago, the actress was given devastating news about her health. Roseanne originally visited the doctor to get her eyes checked since she was having a difficult time seeing. That’s when the doctors shared the devastating news with her: Roseanne diagnosed with glaucoma and macular degeneration.
She learned that she was going blind and there was nothing that could be done.
She began treating herself for glaucoma and macular degeneration with a surprisingly accepting perspective on the matter. In an interview with PEOPLE, she said, “I’m positive that nothing will go right in life. That lets me off the hook. You never know. It’s never what you think and it’s never what you dread – it’s always something else that you didn’t expect. So you might as well live every day and have as much fun as you can. Do at least one good deed a day anonymously. Have as much fun as you can have.”
About a year after learning that she was going blind, Roseanne was given a surprising new diagnosis; She wasn’t going blind at all! Instead, she had a mole on her eye! The mole grew was growing around the lens of her eye which was causing loss of vision.
She was ecstatic to learn that she wasn’t absolutely going to be blind since the mole could be removed with surgery! While she trusted the doctor’s original diagnoses of glaucoma and macular degeneration, she always wondered if that was really the truth… She had a gut feeling that the doctor diagnosis wasn’t accurate.
Roseanne will schedule surgery to remove the mole sooner than later so that her vision is no longer threatened, but she urges all to seek second opinions on their health! She is grateful to God and her doctor! Make sure a misdiagnosis doesn't happen to you and always get a second opinion if you can!
