When the beloved Duke and Duchess of Cambridge announced their first pregnancy in December 2012, Royal fans erupted with joy! Now, six years later and the Duke and Duchess have three little ones: George, Charlotte, and Louis.

Each child has a bright and public future ahead of them. At just five-years-old, Prince George is third in line for the crown, while Princess Charlotte is fourth, and newborn Prince Louis is fifth in line.

With a future of monarchy undeniably ahead of them, William and Kate decided to name each which distinct and influential names. Each child has a mighty and noble name: Prince George Alexander Louis, Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, and Prince Louis Arthur Charles.

When Prince Louis was born on April 23rd, 2018, Royal fans anxiously awaited his name to be announced for a full week! The Duke and Duchess spent very intentional time trying to name him something that would leave a legacy and honor his family history.

Just two months after Prince Louis was born, Prince William’s first cousin, Zara Tindall, welcomed her second child: a daughter named Lena Elizabeth Tindall. Zara is Princess Anne’s daughter and Queen Elizabeth’s granddaughter.

After her name was announced (again several days after her arrival), Zara made a comment to Hello Magazine about her unusual name choice with her daughters Mia and Lena. She said, “We were able to be more adventurous than say, William."

Immediately, Zara’s comment was picked up by Royal fans everywhere, but oddly enough, no one could argue her statement- not even William and Kate! Her children will not be the future monarchs of England. Prince William and Kate named their children knowing that their names would be in history books for the rest of time. There’s nothing but love between the cousins!
