Finally, the day has arrived!
Members of the Royal Family arrived at St James' Palace for the christening of Prince Louis! Fans were thrilled to see the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and of course the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge with their all three children!
Prince William arrived holding Prince George and Princess Charlotte while Kate was proudly holding Prince Louis. Prince Louis was of course dressed in the traditional christening robe that was worn by his great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth. His grandfather, Prince Charles, also wore it along with his father and his Uncle Harry.
Prince Louis will be Christened by Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Reverend Justin Welby. At 11-weeks, Prince Louis is making his debut for to the public for the first time since his birth.
Kate, who is on maternity leave until late Fall 2018, was seen for the first time with all three children as she and her family arrived at the palace.
Fans were saddened to learn that the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh would not be in attendance, however, they were thrilled to know that the newly minted Duke and Duchess of Sussex would be there. Harry and Meghan arrived following Kate and Meghan looked absolutely beautiful in an olive green dress and hat.
Kate’s family will also be joining the Royal Family, along with Prince Louis’ godparents: Mr. Nicholas van Cutsem, Mr. Guy Pelly, Mr. Harry Aubrey-Fletcher, The Lady Laura Meade, Mrs. Robert Carter, and Miss Lucy Middleton.
The Royal Family website states that the Lily Font and water from the River Jordan will be used during the baptism. After the baptism, the family will enjoy tea and cake from William and Kate’s wedding- just as is the tradition.
Fans were thrilled to see Prince Louis and absolutely amazed to see how big Prince Louis had grown! He looked to be the spitting image of Prince George when he was that age! Stay tuned for more pictures from the Christening!
