As May 19 draws nearer every day, we are being treated to new information about the upcoming royal wedding and we just can’t get enough of the spectacular details! We’ve learned everything we can about things like the royal cake and the wedding invitations (including why some people do not get to bring a plus one)!
Of course, there is still quite a lot we don’t know about the wedding, like who made the cut for the guest list or who is making her wedding dress. However, we now have a bundle of new information in the case and it seems that the royal wedding is going to have 250 very special guests!
250 members of the Armed Forces will be attending the wedding to perform ceremonial duties at Windsor Castle! They aren’t just any armed forces units however, these units apparently hold a “great significance for Prince Harry” according to Kensington Palace.
Prince Harry served ten years in the army, where he rose to the rank of Captain and went on two tours in Afghanistan. Even though he no longer serves in the military, he does everything he can to help his fellow servicemen now that he is out.
The members of the armed forces will play important roles throughout the day, from forming a staircase party to providing a Captain’s escort and State Trumpeters! According to Air Chief Marshal Sir Stuart Peach, it is a great honor and he is extremely pleased that members of the Armed Forces will be taking part!
This wedding is turning out to be even more spectacular and it seems that every day as we learn new details, it gets more and more promising! Clearly, this is one celebration that will be the talk of the year. Be sure to keep checking in with us for all of your royal wedding news, and check out the related video below!
