Now that the royal Prince has been born, the British royal family can take one sigh of relief. There have been numerous reasons for celebration around the palace, and now that the birth has occurred, there’s one final thing left to do: finish preparations for the grandest wedding of the decade.
From the moment Prince Harry asked Meghan Markle to be his bride, the world has been abuzz with sheer excitement. Because of Harry’s fun-loving edge, many thought he’d never settle down. All it took was one meeting with the stunning American actress to completely alter his plans.
Since they met, Meghan and Harry have been virtually inseparable. After a short dating period, Harry popped the question with a jaw-droppingly gorgeous engagement ring. The moment she said “yes!”, they began planning their wedding day.
The grand event on May 19th is quickly drawing near, and they’ve almost finished preparations and plans. The cake has been selected, the dress has been chosen, the Best Man role has been filled, and the venue is ready. All that’s left is to say “I do!”
Contrary to many couples, Meghan and Harry chose to forego any wedding gifts and preferred that any gifts would be donations to select charities. Their friends, family, and loved ones gladly followed suit, but one member of the family insists on giving a gift.
Queen Elizabeth is known for giving lavish gifts to those in her family after they wed. Her typical gift of choice is a grand home, and they’re just as dreamy as you’d expect. Two years after Prince William and Kate Middleton married, the Queen gifted them Anmer Hall, which is a large home nestled on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk. This is not the home they permanently reside but use it as their family getaway.
A source elaborated on her generosity: “The Queen has a habit of giving property. She gave Prince Andrew Sunninghill Park, Prince Charles was given Birkhall and William, and Kate was gifted Anmer Hall. There’s every chance that Harry and Meghan might find themselves the proud owners of a nice property outside of London.”
The chosen home has not yet been released, and the couple currently resides in Nottingham Cottage on the Kensington Palace grounds. Many speculate that York Cottage in Sandringham is the likely choice. If this is the chosen home, the newlyweds will have a neighboring home to William and Kate.
Atop the gift of an estate, the couple will also be granted dukedom. This will be the official introduction of Ms. Markle into the royal family. Many speculate that their titles will be either Sussex or Clarence, but that will not be officially confirmed until the ceremony.
We are incredibly excited about the upcoming nuptials and wish the happy couple a lifetime full of love and happiness. May 19th can’t get here fast enough!
