US Olympian, Shawn Johnson, has announced that she is pregnant!
The former US Olympic gymnast, shared the exciting news with her millions of fans and followers on April 4th. With a sweet photo of her and her husband, Andrew East, Shawn shared a picture of the couple pointing to her belly saying “@theeastbaby ... we cannot WAIT to welcome you to the world and shower you with love. @andrewdeast WE DID IT! The news was thrilling to all as the athlete had previously shared that she had suffered a miscarriage. Having been pregnant in October 2017, the couple shared their pregnancy experience news with their fans in a vlog-style format. Sadly, their pregnancy experience was not what they were hoping for.
In 2017, just one day after she had shared the exciting news with her husband, Shawn had suffered a miscarriage. The couple made sure to capture the initial pregnancy test, Shawn telling her husband, and their first thoughts after finding out they were pregnant on their vlog. The footage featured Shawn in the moment she learned she was pregnant and the moment she found out that she had lost the baby… the video was uploaded to YouTube where it was viewed more than 3.3 million times.
After sharing the loss of their first pregnancy with their followers, Shawn became a rather outspoken voice as a woman who had suffered a miscarriage. Knowing that she had wanted to become a mother and grow her family, she made sure to share stay healthy- both mentally and physically.
But thankfully, their prayers were answered after they found they were pregnant in again in February 2019. The couple decided to create another vlog to document their journey- and this time around it was good news and smooth sailing with Shawn’s pregnancy. You can check out their video announcement below!
Within hours of sharing the news, the couple was flooded with support from their fans and followers. Fans were thrilled to see the couple that they had grown to fall in love with so excited for their news.
