The lady who seems to always wear a smile had a confession to make, and it’s taken the internet by storm.
Sherri Shepherd is no stranger to the big screen. The 51-year-old has seen her fair share of air time on various shows and sitcoms over her career in showbiz. As with most jobs, some are a little more difficult to navigate than others, and she knows this all too well.
Shepherd was one of the co-hosts on the controversial talk show, The View, for seven years. During her time there, she learned a lot about herself, her fellow co-hosts, and about getting a thicker skin whether she wanted to or not.
She was recently asked about her time spent working on the show, and her raw admittance is nothing like anyone thought.
“I know what went on my eight, nine years there. I would just say from my end, it was the best experience of my life.” It all seemed good and well until she uttered her next phrase.
“I cried for three years straight because I had a very rough taskmaster who I love her to death - Barbara Walters,” she confessed.
She then went on to explain herself fully: “But Barbara Walters was tough on people she loved and she helped me find my voice, so I will forever be indebted to Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, and Jenny McCarthy for the time I had on The View because what I have now is because of The View.”
While many were shocked to know that the ever-so-bubbly Sherri Shepherd had a three-year span of tears, it was refreshing to know that it was all worth it for her in the end.
Periods of growth can often be painful to endure, but what you reap from it far outweighs the difficult trials.
