On August 16th, the Queen of Soul and one of the most iconic female vocalist in history died. Aretha Franklin has passed away from pancreatic cancer. She was 76.
News of Aretha’s dealing health surfaced on August 13th, just two days before her death. In a simple tweet, her friend and newscaster, Evrod Cassidy, shared that Aretha was gravely ill an that her death was imminent.
Aretha was believed to be battling cancer and after years of shying away from a diagnosis or health concerns at all- it was confirmed that she had been suffering from Pancreatic cancer. In her final days, TMZ reported that Aretha was only 85 pounds.
Following her death, family, friends, and fans mourn the loss of one of the greatest musical artists of all time. While most remembered her with love and affection, two men in Suffolk, Virginia let their emotion get the best of them.
WTKR shared that just hours after confirmation of her death, two men got into a heated argument over whether Halle Berry played the iconic Queen of Soul in a movie.
While arguing in a barbershop, the two men took their disagreement outside and began to physically fight each other before one man pulled out a gun and shot his opponent.
Both men were rushed to the hospital where they were given a medical assessment and treatment. One victim is believed to be in critical condition.
