The most trending moment on The Internet has been captured by none other than a 39-year-old single mother from Norfolk, England, Karen Anvil.
On December 25, 2017, Karen captured what is believed to be the most talked-about photograph of The Royal Family to date. In a sea of journalists and photographers, Karen and her daughter waited patiently at Sandringham House hoping to catch a glimpse of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle.
This was to be the first time that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry would be spotted alongside The Duke and Duchess, and it would also be the Meghan’s first Christmas with her soon-to-be family. Talk of this Christmas was booming through every publication, which means loads of photographers and journalists.
Karen and her daughter waited patiently alongside the professionals. They recall waiting with great excitement but not expecting anything out of the ordinary to happen. However, it was a different story when they saw the Royal Family in the flesh. Karen admits that she and her daughter ‘went crazy’ when they saw the couples in front of them. Below is a picture of Karen and her daughter, Sky, taken moments before they saw The Royals.
Karen shares, “I’m just very bubbly by nature and I was with my daughter and I got a bit excited. I was shouting ‘Merry Christmas!’ like an idiot. I was totally ‘fan-girling’.” Clearly, her attempt to get even a smile from the couple worked, because Karen captured this moment beautifully.
Both The Duchess and Meghan are smiling directly at the camera with The Duke and The Prince on the border. Truly, there has not been a more perfect photo of the two royal princes and their brides.
Moments after Karen snapped the photo, she shared it on Twitter where it went viral; it’s been in newspapers, tabloids, and social media spreads, internationally. She returned to her social media account and email where she was sent hundreds of personal messages asking for permission for the photo. At first, she shared without question, but then, something sparked her interested.
Ken Goff, a celebrity photo agent contacted Karen letting her know the value of her photo. He said, “You got the photo every photographer was dying to get. You can make some great money.” Karen admits that, as a single mom, she was interested in the incentive, especially in the interest of her 17-year-old daughter, Sky, who dreams of going to nursing school.
The photo has since been valued at over $36,000 but its value is only increasing. Sounds as though she got the shot of a lifetime, literally! We love the photo and hope all the best for Karen and Sky!
