It’s a difficult time for the entertainment industry- and especially a difficult time for superstar, Clint Eastwood.
Sondra Locke has died of cardiac arrest stemming from breast and bone cancer. She was 74.
Sondra died on November 3rd, 2018, however, her death was not reported for almost six weeks until December 13th, 2018. The Daily Mail reports that the Associated Press obtained Sondra’s death certificate.
Sondra, best known for her first film in 1968, 'The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter,' quickly became a star after earning an Academy Award nominee. After making a name for herself, she earned several other roles that allowed to meet some iconic names in the industry, one of them being Clint Eastwood.
Sondra Locke and Clint Eastwood began their working relationship when they filmed The Outlaw Josey Wales in 1976. Little did they know that the film would mark the beginning of a very famous and messy 13-year relationship.
During their time together, they made six movies with each other; ‘The Outlaw Josey Wales’ in 1976, 'The Gauntlet' in 1977, 'Every Which Way But Loose,' in 1978, 'Bronco Billy' and 'Any Which Way You Can' in 1980, and finally the Dirty Harry movie 'Sudden Impact', in 1983.
After a 13 year relationship, living together, and having two pregnancies (which Sondra quickly aborted), Sondra and Clint Eastwood’s relationship ended. During their split, Sondra learned that she had breast cancer.
While they are no longer together and endured a messy breakup with lawsuits and public anger, it’s likely that Clint Eastwood still cares deeply for Sondra. After all, they were together for 13 years.
Please pray that Sondra’s loved ones are able to get through this time peacefully. Losing someone is never easy- especially around the holidays. We pray that they are comforted by God’s peace.
