Hollywood Mega Star Under Fire For Her Comment About Her New Role As A Stepmother

December 04, 2018

Gwyneth Paltrow has found herself in the eye of the media once again, and, this time, people are a bit taken aback by her recent admittance.

During an intimate ceremony in September 2018, the actress and her longtime love, Brad Falchuk, said their “I do’s” to one another. Paltrow knows all about the in’s and out’s of motherhood and shares custody of two beautiful children with her ex-husband, Chris Martin: Apple Martin, 14, and Moses Martin, 12.

Now that she is the bride to Falchuk, she has added two more children to the mix. Falchuk is the father of two teenagers, Isabella and Brody. This new shift in the family dynamic has been a serious adjustment for Paltrow.

In an interview with WSJ Magazine, she told, “I’ve never been a stepmother before. I don’t know how to do it.”

She continued, “We’re still doing it our own way. With teenage kids, you’ve got to tread lightly. It’s pretty intense, this teenage thing.”

While it seems to be new and uncharted territory for the actress, she is gleaning strength from her husband and the happiness they share together. This is something she isn’t a bit shy to confess to the press.

When asked about married life, she happily retorted, “It’s fantastic. I feel like we are probably better equipped to choose our life partner when we are halfway through life. But generally, we have to pick our spouses a lot earlier because of the whole procreation piece...For me, it has been more of a process, and so I feel really lucky to have met this person who is an incredible, true partner.”

Despite her uneasiness and insecurity in her role as a new stepmother, with time, she will be able to get her footing and become a wonderful addition to the Falchuk family.

What do you think about this? Have you or someone you know ever struggled with their role as a stepparent?
