The Animal Community Is Up In Arms For Barbra Streisand’s Strange Decision Concerning Her Deceased Dog

March 01, 2018

It’s always a devastating time when your precious fur baby crosses the rainbow bridge. From the moment you first hold them in your arms, they instantly become family. When they pass, the grieving process can take quite some time, and, understandably so.

Barbra Streisand lost her beloved 14-year-old Coton du Tulear Samantha in 2017. It wasn’t an instantaneous passing, and Streisand had a chance to say goodbye to her little fur baby. Before Samantha passed, Streisand chose to do something rather controversial, and people aren’t quite sure how they feel about it.

In the last moments of Samantha’s life, Streisand has cells taken from inside her mouth and stomach. She then took those cells to be cloned. She didn’t want to face life without her little pup by her side and wanted another one just like her. She got more than she bargained for, though. Instead of one adorable pup, she got two!

In an interview, Streisand said, “They have different personalities. I’m waiting for them to get older so I can see if they have Samantha’s brown eyes and seriousness.” She named the new additions to the family Miss Scarlet and Miss Violet and dresses them in the colors of their names to tell them apart.

What do you think about this? Do you approve of her choice to do this?
