It’s a natural desire for a bride to want to be the center of attention at her wedding. It’s the very reason that it is considered bad etiquette to wear white if you’re not the bride. That honor is reserved exclusively for the star of the show! We’ve also heard of some women who choose their bridesmaids based on their level of attractiveness so that no one will outshine her on her big day.
Who could blame Princess Eugenie for having the same feelings - as she makes preparations for her September wedding to Jack Brooksbank? And wanting all eyes to be on her? Consequently, she is reportedly culling her guest list to make sure none of her guests takes any of the attention away from her. But does that include members of her own family?
According to OK Magazine, sources are claiming that Eugenie does not want Catherine, The Duchess of Cambridge, to attend her wedding because of the enormous popularity that Kate enjoys. Eugenie is worried that once the Duchess appears on the scene, her own importance will be overshadowed by the beloved wife of Prince William.
I don't know about you, but I highly doubt that, even if she briefly entertained the notion of excluding Kate, it would ever be allowed. After all, she and William are cousins and reportedly have a good relationship. I just cannot imagine her wanting to create a rift among people whom she genuinely loves.
Time will tell, of course. And although you could almost forgive Eugenie for momentarily considering a royal snub, it seems likely that calmer heads will prevail and all royal cousins and their significant others will be present, front and center, for the happiest day of Eugenie's life!
