When you walk into a home improvement store, you experience one of two things: overwhelming anxiety or joyous inspiration. If you experience the latter, you're likely the one who walks out with arms full of goodies, and a firm plan to do many, many DIYs. It's utterly astounding how many things you can create with a little bit of creativity and time, for a fraction of the cost of what you’d pay at a traditional store.
This DIY is affordable, functional, and adorable - all rolled up in one delightful package! With this craft, you can jazz up your refrigerator with a personal twist, or give it to a friend as a cheery, thoughtful gift. To make these personalized magnets, you'll need a plain sheet of tile, magnets, Mod Podge, some photographs, a fine-tipped Sharpie, a hot glue gun, some cork, a sponge brush, and some scissors.
Cut your photos down to fit your small tiles. Add some Mod Podge to your sponge brush and sweep some on the back of your photo. Attach to the tile and top with more Mod Podge.
If you would like, you can take your fine-tipped Sharpie and add a personalized note before you brush on the top coat of Mod Podge.
Once dry, use your hot glue gun to attach two heavy magnets to the back of the tile.
After you’ve finished making the magnets, you'll likely have a few tiles left on the sheet. Don't toss those out! They're perfect for a bonus DIY! Check out the following page to see the additional project.
