Yay! The wedding invites of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been released and they are as beautiful as ever! Although, they're not what anyone expected- especially given all of the curveballs in this wedding.
On March 22, 2018, Kensington Palace released photographs of the invites being placed into envelopes and mailed to prestigious guests. Seeing the invitations makes everything feel so real and so close!
March has been quite a busy month for Meghan and Harry; Meghan had her first public outing with Queen Elizabeth, Meghan was baptized, and the couple chose a cake decorator! Sounds like wedding planning is in full swing!
Although, given all of the curveballs that Meghan and Harry have thrown our way with planning the wedding, we were surprised to see such traditional wedding invitations. They used the same designer as other royals have used since 1985! It appears that the couple may be following some traditions after all!
Kensington posted the invitations on March 22 only hours after being printed. Kensington tweeted “The invitations follow many years of Royal tradition and have been made by Barnard Westwood. They feature the Three-Feathered Badge of the Prince of Wales printed in gold ink.”
Kensington shared the scoop on Twitter in great detail. Once the invites are enveloped and addressed, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth has requested Lord Chamberlain to send the invitations.
The lucky guests will be cordially “invited to the service at St. George’s Chapel and to the lunchtime reception at St. George’s Hall, which is being given by Her Majesty The Queen.” It sounds like the wedding of the century if you ask me!
The wedding will be held at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle on May 19th, 2018. The wedding has been the talk of the world since the engagement news broke on November 27, 2017.
As Meghan and Harry cross another big task off of their list, we can only imagine all of the giddiness that their feeling! The big day is just around the corner!
