When Meghan Markle stepped onto the scene, the world watched with great anticipation as millions wondered how the British royal family would respond to an American actress. Without any doubt at all, Meghan quickly showed herself to be the perfect addition to the royal family.
While Queen Elizabeth has great adoration for her family, many were especially curious about how Meghan and the Queen would get along. Meeting a partner’s family is a nerve-racking-no matter who you are! Although it seems as though Meghan had made quite a lasting impression on the queen!
While we weren’t in the very first meeting with Meghan and Queen Elizabeth, multiple sources say that the two got along famously! A sure sign that Meghan could be trusted by Queen Elizabeth was the fact that her corgis instantly took to the American actress. From that moment on, it appeared that Meghan had won over Queen Elizabeth. Harry and Meghan were given the Queen’s blessing to marry and the two quickly began wedding planning.
In the days leading up to the royal wedding, Meghan remained graceful even amidst family drama that was happening stateside. In the trying times, Kate Middleton was known to be a huge source of strength to Meghan. In fact, the two have developed quite a wonderful friendship!
But Kate wasn’t the only one who was becoming close with Meghan… Queen Elizabeth had gotten closer to Meghan in the days leading up to the wedding! In fact, Her Majesty even invited Meghan on a solo trip after Meghan returns from her honeymoon!
The fact that Queen Elizabeth has invited Meghan along for a solo trip so early on into her life is as a royal is a sure telling sign of the Queen’s respect and trust for the Duchess of Sussex. In fact, her request for Meghan’s presence is actually quite historical!
Kate Middleton didn’t venture with the Queen for a solo outing until well into her first year of marriage to William. Even then, Kate was accompanied by her parents. Meghan will be making her solo trip with the Queen less than a month after being in the family!
Meghan will join the Queen in Chester where they will be unveiling the Mersey Gateway Bridge at Catalyst Science Discovery Centre, opening a local theatre, and enjoying lunch in the local town hall. Sounds like a fun trip!
