The Queen Gets Brutally Honest About Camilla Parker Bowles And Tragically, It’s Not Ever What You’d Expect Her To Say

March 20, 2018

It’s no surprise that Camilla’s journey into the Royal Family has been a public whirlwind. From her early friendship with Prince Charles while he was still married to the beloved Princess Diana, to the days of being a mistress, to marrying Prince Charles herself several years later… Camilla’s role in the Royal Family has not been an easy one.

While the world has formed opinions about Camilla, there is one woman- and arguably the one woman most privy to an opinion- who has never actually shared her thoughts: Her Majesty, The Queen.

Queen Elizabeth has seen the scandal of Prince Charles and Camilla unfold from the very beginning. As Charles’ mother and the reigning monarch, she is sure to have formed opinions on the relationship.

However, the Queen has chosen a higher path; known as an international figure of peace, her role has never been stir up circumstances with her opinions, no matter how different she feels about something.

There is no doubt that Queen Elizabeth has had opinions on the matter of her son, the future king, and his relational scandals. And while she’s kept quite for literally decades, her opinion on the matter has finally gotten out.

In Tom Bower’s latest unauthorized biography of the Prince of Wales, Rebel Prince: The Power, Passio, and Defiance of Prince Charles, special recognition is given to the Queen and her very honest perspective of Camilla. In the autobiography, Prince Charles asks his mother about welcoming Camilla into the family after Diana’s tragic death. Her response was tragically frank, to say the least…

The Queen, who had reportedly had several drinks prior to the conversation, shared that she “would not condone his adultery, nor forgive Camilla for not leaving Charles alone to allow his marriage to recover.” She then referred to Camilla as “that wicked woman” and ended the conversation by simply saying, “I want nothing to do with her.”

Ouch. Talk about honesty.

While this autobiography is not official, it is full of private conversations and interactions with Prince Charles. We can’t help but wonder if Her Majesty really did share those exact thoughts towards Camilla.

Today, the Queen, Princes Charles, and Camilla seem to have a friendly relationship… What do you think about the matter? Check out the video below of Prince Charles and Princess Diana during their marriage. It sure seems like another lifetime, doesn’t it?
