Captivating news of a Royal Wedding surfaced in late November 2017, when Prince Harry of Wales proposed to his American girlfriend, Meghan Markle. The wedding is set to take place in St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle on May 19, 2018.

Following their news were congratulatory remarks and celebrations from coast to coast. Both Harry and Meghan’s families are excited about the couple, and many are even taking part in planning the Spring wedding. With tremendous encouragement from friends and family, there was one person that showed a specific interest in the planning process, and that was one person’s perspective wasn’t received with outstanding gratitude.

In late December 2017, not even a month after news of the engagement broke, the press released The Queen’s urgency for Prince Harry’s prenuptial agreement. Of course, this is not necessarily shocking news. After all, Prince Harry is currently fifth in line to the throne.

News broke that Meghan was hurt when she learned of The Queen’s response. She felt untrusted and defensive to the request, however, she tried to understand The Queen’s perspective. This will undoubtedly be the first of many times that duties as a Royal conflict with the desires of an equal domestic partnership.

The Queen must have been eager to make amends with her soon-to-be granddaughter because immediately after news of the prenup went viral, plans for an extravagant Christmas celebration were also revised with plans to increase “the magic of the holiday.” It’s been said that Meghan will be spending Christmas with the Royal Family, so we can’t but wonder if the holiday celebration is getting a little extra attention specifically to make Meghan feel comfortable.

The Queen and her staff have planned a marvelous Christmas holiday. Lavish festivities will last three days; The immediate family will enjoy tea together on Christmas Eve and then they will open presents and visit with each other. On Christmas morning, they will enjoy breakfast as a family, head to church, and then enjoy a holiday lunch full of savory traditional dishes. After lunch, The Queen will give her notable Christmas speech. Alone time follows that until the evening when the Royal Family- both immediate and extended- return for a buffet style dinner.

Meghan is one of the only fiancés to have been invited to Christmas festivities and is actually going again Royal conduct by joining her Prince Harry. Typically, it’s only spouses, but for reasons unbeknownst to the public, The Queen has invited her this year. Apparently, Harry begged his grandmother to let her come to the dinner.

Will an invitation to Christmas festivities make up for The Queen’s suggestive prenup? Only time will tell…
