The Royal Family Is Strictly Forbidden To Give Autographs And The Reason Isn’t What You Would Expect

March 14, 2018

When meeting a famous individual, many jump at the chance to get a photograph with them and to get their glorious autograph. These encounters are few and far between, so it only makes sense to take full advantage of them!

As of late, the entire British royal family have been taking the internet by storm and have become some of the most influential and famous people in the world. What’s not to love about them, though? From the outside, they seem to have it all together and live a life in which many people merely dream.

If you ever have the opportunity to meet one of them, keep one thing in mind: don’t plan on walking away with an autograph. They can cordially greet you and, if they initiate it, will shake your hand, but under no circumstances will sign any item.

This might come as a surprise from people so highly esteemed, but they have a very specific reason for foregoing this task. According to sources, their main reason is so that people won’t be able to forge their signature.

There are slight exceptions to this rule, however, and that is only when they attend an official event and want to sign a guestbook. This is the only time you will ever catch a Royal freely giving out their John Hancock. Though this might seem a bit excessive to some, it all comes down to the protocol set in place for the family. It just comes with the territory!
