For most people, one set of twins would be enough. You know what they say, “Double the Trouble,” but for the Kosinski family, one set was NOT enough. Continue reading to find out why February 28th is a special day in the Kosinski household.
Since she was a child, Carrie Kosinski had dreamt of being a mother to many children. When she and her husband, Craig, were told that they couldn’t have any biological children, she was devastated. In the wake of this sad news, however, Carrie’s long-held desire to adopt resurfaced.
In July 2013, an acquaintance contacted her on Facebook to see if she and her husband would like to adopt her baby. She was already several months pregnant. They agreed right away but didn’t find out until later that the friend was having TWIN girls. Adalynn and Kenna were born on February 28, 2014.
The next year, the birth mom again reached out to Carrie and Craig. This time, she told them that she could no longer care for her other set of twins, JJ and CeCe. Without a moment’s hesitation, the Kosinskis welcomed the two older siblings into their family. The couple was surprised to learn that this set of twins was also born on February 28th, but in 2013.
Then last year, Carrie gave birth to twins via in vitro fertilization and yep, you guessed it - on February 28th! CRAZY!! “There is never a dull moment in my house,” she says, laughing.
“All three sets of twins were [born] by emergency C-section,” Carrie said. “I get that question a lot. ‘Did you plan it? It was a C-section. It must have been planned.’ No. Mine was at 24 weeks. I did not plan on them being born at 24 weeks.” Amazing!! Watch the video, below, and meet all six of the Kosinski kids!
