I hate to admit it but a Crockpot is something that I went FAR too many years without utilizing. It seemed to be something that just took up extra space in the pantry and in time, I had forgotten I even owned it.
I began hearing friends talk about the AMAZING meals they had been making in their own Crockpot. I almost felt a tinge of jealousy because I, too, wanted to make that recipe but didn't feel like I had the right tools. Then I remembered the long forgotten Crockpot tucked away in the back of the pantry. From that moment on, food has NEVER been the same in my house.
I have a small family, so whatever I make in the Crockpot these days tends to go a long way. I love to find something that everyone loves and that can be utilized in various ways for every meal.
One of my current staple meals is to make pulled pork in my Crockpot. One night we'll do pork sandwiches, the next it's pork tacos, and then pork with salad. The options are endless!
This recipe is super easy to make and everyone raves about the delicious flavors for days on end.
2 tbsp. sweet paprika
2 tbsp. smoked paprika
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. black pepper
2 tbsp. garlic
1/2 c. chopped onion
2 lb. pork roast
3 tsp. honey
1/8 c. water
Mix sweet and smoked paprika, salt, pepper, garlic, and onion together in a small bowl.
Place pork in your slow cooker. Take half of your topping mixture and spread evenly on the top of the pork. Using tongs, flip over your pork and spread on the other half of the mixture.
Drizzle honey evenly over the top of your seasoned pork. Top with water. Set slow cooker to cook on low for 8 hours.
Once done, shred meat and use as desired.
