Sometimes life can get so busy that we forget to slow down, take a breather, and remember the simple days. For me, music takes me back to a much easier time. This song, specifically, is reminding me of my earlier days as a little girl and I just can’t get enough.
Be My Baby by the Ronettes is a world-renowned song. Originally released in 1963, it’s still igniting happiness and joy today.
The Ronettes were an all-girl group from New York. Together, Veronica, Estelle, and Nedra, created early pop and rock and roll music. Their energetic songs played all around the world and triggered every emotion from heartbreak to electric happiness.
The song Be My Baby proved to be one of their most popular hits. It was one of the best songs of the 1960’s according to major publications like Time, NME (New Musical Express), and Pitchfork. The Rolling Stone named it 22nd on "The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time."
From California to Alabama, and London to China, Be My Baby was an energetic pop love song that immediately changed the energy of any room!
Even today, 50 plus years later, Be My Baby will come on and immediately take me right back to where I was when I first heard it. I was riding around town in my grandmother’s Cadillac. We always played our music loud! When I hear Be My Baby, I’m immediately reminded of the easier days of life.
