October 26, 2018

It’s a sad day for tennis fans.

According to The Sydney Morning Herald, superstar tennis play, Todd Reid, has died. He was 34.

Todd Reid was the 2002 Wimbledon junior singles champion. As an Australian native, he was a well-known athlete Down Under and in the tennis world.

According to The Sydney Morning Herald, it is unclear as to how Todd died. However, there are no suspicious circumstances reported at this time. Many are praying that suicide is not the cause of his death.

Todd was ranked as one of Australia’s Best Tennis Players for years after he went pro 2002. In 2005, he was ranked as the 105th best tennis player in the world, according to ESPN.

All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club- which famously hosts Wimbledon- took to Twitter to announce their sadness over the loss of Todd. The Twitter announcement shared, “The AELTC is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Todd Reid, our 2002 boys’ singles champion. The thoughts of all those at Wimbledon are with his family and friends.”

Please keep Todd’s family and friends in your prayers while they search for answers. This is surely a difficult season to navigate and they need God’s peace.
