Divorce is never an easy matter for anyone involved. A life that had once been established, sometimes for several decades, is now torn apart and forced to be rebuilt in a new and very different way.
While celebrities seem to “have it all together” in the eyes of some, they, too, endure their fair share of struggles and relationships are one of the main areas they get hit the hardest.
Recently, another celebrity couple came forward and confirmed that they would officially be parting ways. American actor and comedian, Tom Arnold, and his wife of ten years, Ashley Groussman, spoke with news outlets to make their announcement.
“For the last...three years, it’s been very unusual in the house. But my kids and I have a whole life, a wonderful life. I’ve been telling my wife, ‘It’s OK. Just do whatever you gotta do.’ So she moved out,” Arnold said.
He continued and his positive outlook on the situation was what surprised people the most. “It’s a long time coming and we have been together for almost 11 years. And very grateful. I have many good years. I have my children because of my wife.”
“She has one life and she gets to live it exactly the way...the same thing with everybody. And I think it’s hard. Sometimes in our society, people put things on. Especially women, they can feel guilty,” he said.
His final admittance was his best. “I kept saying, ‘Hey, listen...You have done everything. We’ve been together. You’ve been amazing. There doesn’t have to be a reason. There doesn’t have to be a bad guy.”
This, alone, shows how the 59-year-old actor is taking the news of the split and how he will continue to do so around his children. He sees the value in family and wants to keep it centered around that in his home despite the unfortunate circumstances.
Please keep this family in your prayers in the coming months, especially the children, as they learn to navigate a whole new way of life.
