TV Star And Sports Icon Dies From Heart Attack

April 06, 2018

60-year-old Eric Bristow has passed away suffering a heart attack according to the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). He had been attending a Premier League Darts event in Liverpool and had been walking back to his car when the heart attack struck.

In 1898, Eric married Jane Bristow and together the two had children. However, the marriage was not to last and they soon divorced. He then entered into a relationship with Rebecca Gadd, who he remained with until his death.

Eric was a superb Darts player, and that was the cause of his claim to fame. During his career, he won 22 major competitions and served as a runner up in 9 others. He won the World Darts Championship five times, in 1980, 1981, 1984, 1985, and 1986.

The other competitions that he competed in included the World Masters, British Professionals, World Matchplay, Grand Masters, and the British Matchplay. Eric was the most successful and consistent dart player during the 1980’s!

Unfortunately, Eric’s dart career came to an end during the Swedish Open in November of 1986. He came down with a psychological condition known as dartitis, which prevented him from releasing the dart when he threw it. The condition had been slowing building up since the the Nations Cup in April 1987.

In 2012, he participated on a reality show called I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! In the show, celebrities are stranded in the jungle for weeks. He was voted off of the show on November 29, 2012, finishing fourth out of the twelve celebrities.

Please pray for Eric’s loved ones and family as they mourn the loss of their beloved companion. This is surely going to be a trying time for them, and we pray that they are able to find peace in the end.

This is a horrible story, and we know that sometimes we need a reminder of the good in the world at a time like this, so be sure to check out the video below!
