When his two friends started to get swept away, this black Lab had to do something to help. He jumped into the river, swam over to the canoe, and pulled his friends to safety. Showing that he really did live up to his name, this Retriever,  by "retrieving" his friends.

Labrador Retrievers were bred to be both a friendly companion and a useful working dog breed. Historically, he earned his keep as a fisherman’s helper, hauling nets, fetching ropes, and retrieving fish from the chilly North Atlantic. Today's Labrador Retriever is as good-natured and hard-working as his ancestors and he’s America’s most popular breed. These days the Lab works as a Retriever for hunters, assistance dog to the handicapped, show competitor, and a search and rescue dog, among other canine jobs. ~Wikipedia.

In this video, you can see the two dogs start to panic, as the canoe they are stranded on starts moving downstream. While their owner is trying to keep them calm, someone or something emerges from behind the camera. The Black Lab decides to jump right into the rushing water to save his friends and to save the day!

As he swims upstream, he grabs the rope at the front of the canoe and pulls his friends to the shore. You can hear the man behind the camera yell out, "Keep going, boy! Bring 'em home." As they get to shore the dogs jump out. You can tell his friends are so thankful for his heroic act. Watch this pup's heroic act in the video, below!

Just an amazing rescue, don't you agree?!?!
