Beloved Actor’s Cause Of Death Finally Revealed 4 Months After Sudden Death; Friends And Family Are Utterly Shocked By Doctor’s Conclusion And Are Praying For Answers

October 10, 2018

On April 21st, 2018, one of the most iconic stars in Hollywood died after apparent alcohol poisoning. Verne Troyer, famous for his role in the Austin Powers series, was just 49 years old when he died.

Known as Mini-Me from the Austin Powers series, Verne was born with achondroplasia dwarfism, which caused him to stop growing at 2ft 8in.

Verne was known for his unique appearance and his positive attitude. Those who knew him said he was a “beacon of positivity.” Many remember him for outrageously kind personality.

A close friend of the late star remembered him as an “extremely caring individual” and went on to say that Verne “wanted to make everyone smile, be happy, and laugh. Anybody in need, he would help to any extent possible,' a statement on his Instagram read started shortly after his death.”

In 2017, Verne was hospitalized for alcoholism and left many of his fans concerned. After being released from the hospital, he shared a statement with PEOPLE, “I've been hearing from some concerned fans, so I'd like to address a very personal situation. As you know, I've battled alcohol addiction in the past and while it's not always been an easy fight, I'm willing to continue my fight day by day.”

Alcoholism is often overlooked as a legitimate disease, however, it is deadly and can have lasting effects on its victims. When Verne’s death was released in April, fans were sure that it was alcohol that had destroyed his life. However, they were wrong.

After nearly four months of waiting to learn the cause of Verne’s death, it was finally determined that his cause of death was suicide.

Fans were devastated to learn that he had died from alcohol poisoning after consuming more than three times the legal limit. The Los Angeles County Department Medical Examiner confirmed Vern’s suicide on October 10th, 2018.

Every year, suicide steals the lives of millions. Please check in with your friends and family to make sure that they are mentally healthy. Like so many, Verne’s suicide is a shock; he was a happy, positive, and kind individual with so much to offer. Please pray for those affected by his loss.
