The BARCS Animal Shelter is the largest shelter in the Baltimore area. This shelter is known for its amazing care of animals. Every animal that comes through their doors is spayed or neutered to help with animal population control in the Baltimore area.

This is Meesah a pit bull mix puppy. In order to prepare her for adoption, it was little Meesha's turn to be spayed. As the anesthesia began to wear off, she began to cry and whimper. She was scared but surgical assistant Dennis Moses heard the puppy’s cries and picked her up to comfort her. He took her out to the hall where it was quiet and he could let her know she was safe.

That is when this amazing moment was caught on video. A volunteer was passing by and immediately whipped out their camera to record the special moment between Moses and Meesah. In the video you see Moses doing everything he can to soothe Meesha’s fears and to calm her down in a perfect way. Who doesn't want to be woken up with kisses? This video has been seen over 300k times. The web is going crazy for this doctor and pup video.

The video caption said this - Baby Meesha was coming off her anesthesia and was a little scared because her body felt so weird. BARCS Surgical Assistant Dennis Moses took her out into the quiet hallway to comfort her. One of our awesome volunteers just happened to be walking by to capture this sweet moment. Thank you to Dennis and all the staff who work long, tireless hours in the background of our shelter—saving lives and loving the animals. (Turn on the sound, it will melt your heart!)

The best news of all - a few days after this video was filmed, Meesha was adopted and placed in her forever family. Her new name is Maddie and she is one happy and healthy puppy today because of the excellent care she received at BARCS Animal Shelter. Thanks to Moses, she was never afraid because he was there for her the whole time. What a great guy!
