Famous Talk Show Host Gives Update On Grave Health Condition, Leaving Many Wondering If She Will Ever Be Well Enough To Return To Her Show

January 22, 2019

Whether you’re a booming celebrity or a “normal” person working a regular 9 to 5 job, no one is immune to difficulties in life. It seems like we hear more and more of how many people have been struggling with illnesses of varying kinds.

Several months ago, news broke that one of television’s hit talk show hosts was battling a serious illness of her own, causing her to have to step away from the spotlight for a while.

Wendy Williams, the host of The Wendy Williams Show, had taken time away to recover her health but had plans to finally make her great return on January 21st. Much to everyone’s surprise, on January 18, just three days before her highly anticipated return, her fans we hit with devastating news.

She posted an update to her television show’s official Instagram account to break the news:

“A Note From The Hunter Family: As Wendy Williams Hunter previously shared, she fractured her shoulder and has been on the mend. Over the past few days, Wendy has experienced complications regarding her Graves’ Disease that will require treatment.”

The message continued: “Wendy will be under strict supervision of her physicians, and as part of her care, there will be significant time spent in the hospital. Despite her strong desire to return, she is taking a necessary, extended break from her show to focus on her personal and physical well-being.”

The message finished with a thank you from Wendy. “Wendy thanks everyone in advance for their well-wishes and for respecting her and the Hunter family’s privacy during this time.”

To keep fans from worrying more, they added one final note at the bottom of the post to update them on the status of the show itself. “For over ten years, Wendy has been a vital part of the Debmar-Mercury family. We wholeheartedly support Wendy in this decision to take the time she needs and we will welcome her back with open arms the moment she is ready.”

“The Wendy Williams Show will air repeat episodes the week of January 21st and will produce original episodes with a variety of hosts starting January 28th,” the message concluded.

While this is certainly not the outcome anyone had hoped, fans gave their utmost sympathies, well-wishes, and prayers for her health and recovery. Please continue to keep her in your prayers in the coming months as she continues to heal!
