Woman Buys Beautiful Ornament At Thrift Store. Little Did She Know What Secret It Held Inside

February 07, 2018

Priscilla Bailey was shopping at her local Savers thrift store when an unusual item caught her eye. As she walked down an aisle, she noticed a beautiful light blue heart ornament. It was unlike anything she had ever seen before and knew it had to be something special.

“I thought about it for a minute when I first picked it up,” Priscilla said in an interview. She thought it felt like something was inside the ornament, but soon dismissed the idea and continued toward the checkout line to purchase the $2.99 item.

What caught her attention about the item most was its gorgeous color. She collects blue trinkets and knew this would be a perfect addition to her collection. “Right now it’s hanging right up there while I do my dishes. I sometimes stare at it,” she said happily.

In a moment, everything changed when she had an idea. She couldn’t shake the thought of its peculiar weight and asked her husband to help her try and figure out if it had any contents. He took a flashlight and held the ornament up near it. What they saw next left them speechless.

From the shape of the contents inside, it led them to believe that the ornament contained ashes and was an urn. This was a completely unexpected discovery and they knew they had to do something about it.

Immediately after the discovery, she and her daughter began a quest to find the rightful owner of this precious urn. “I mean it’s beautiful and must have a story and that’s my goal - to figure out where this and who this belongs to,” her daughter said.

“It will be fun to see what happens. Hopefully, someone will come forward and say, ‘yes, that was my grandmother’s or my grandfather’s,'” Priscilla said happily. Until it’s owner is located, it will safely hang as decor in the Bailey house.
