Woman Experiences Her Absolute WORST Nightmare at ‘The Happiest Place on Earth’

January 12, 2017

For the vast majority, a vacation to Disneyland is a joyous occasion.

But for 34-year-old Christina Jordan, it was one of the worst days of her life. Looking back on it, she now sees it as a blessing in disguise, but at the time, it was anything but.

Nine years ago, Christina was with her family at Disneyland waiting in line for a ride when she experienced a nightmare come true.

"My family and I waited two hours in line for one ride, and we're hot and cranky. And when we finally got to sit, the seat belt doesn't fit over me," she told PEOPLE.

"The poor kid manning the ride says, 'I'm sorry ma'am, it doesn't fit; you're too large for this ride."

Humiliated beyond belief, she instantly fled the ride. Shortly after, ANOTHER nightmare occurred.

"I go to leave, and I couldn't fit through the people counter," she said. "My hips were too wide, so they had to open the gate, and I felt like cattle being bought out to slaughter. It was the most embarrassing moment of my life. But it also opened my eyes to the fact that I had to change. I didn't want to live the rest of my life on the sidelines."

At 271 pounds, she realized that this was the wakeup call she had been needing all along, as painful as it was.

Like any weight loss journey, she faced her fair share of highs and lows.

After trying what seemed like every diet known to mankind, she FINALLY found a plan that allowed her to eat meals that included lean protein, a complex carbohydrate, and a healthy fat five to six times a day.

After starting this plan, she lost 134 pounds in less that one year - that's close to HALF her original body weight!

Now nine years later, she's impressively maintained this healthy lifestyle.

She also went back to school to become a nutritionist so that she could help others find happiness within the wellbeing of their bodies.

"I realized that I would be the best mom and the best wife by being the best me," she told PEOPLE.
