It never ceases to amaze me how many hidden gems there are on the shelves of the dollar store. I often find myself popping in to grab a couple of small items. Before I know it, I've got an entire cart loaded down with a wide assortment of random goodies! It's times like these that really spark my creativity and make me feel more crafty.
I recently came across this tutorial, and I instantly knew it was something I'd have to try! The woman in the video, much like me, happened upon a wide variety of goodies at her local dollar store. After a bit of thought and creativity, she crafted a gorgeous candle holder that looks as though she spent a pretty penny to purchase! Not only is it affordable but it can be completed in less than ten minutes! What more could you want from a practical DIY? To make these beautiful candle holders, you'll need a candle, diamond wrap, four round tea light candle holders, two square candle plates, three round napkin rings, and a hot glue gun.
First, flip your square candle plate over so that the base is right-side-up. Remove the label and discard. Unroll your diamond wrap and measure out how much you will need for each side of the plate. Use your hot glue gun to attach the wrap to the plate.
Next, take more of the diamond wrap and measure out the amount needed to cover the napkin rings. Secure firmly with hot glue. Apply more glue to the bottom of a round tea light candle holder and affix to the square base.
Add a ring of hot glue around the edges where a tea light candle would sit in the holder, and secure your napkin ring. Check out the following page to see the finished product!
