For the first time in history, The Duke of Cambridge is planning a trip to Israel. This will mark the first official visit by a member of the British royal family to the Palestinian territories and Israel.
While no date has been set, the travel plans are being made over the summer of 2018.
This will be a trip for just The Duke and his advisors. Kate will remain at home as she will have just given birth.
This trip is quite significant has no member of the British Monarchy has ever traveled to Israel. Tours are planned all around the world but for the Palestinian territories are deemed illegal for any U.K. occupation.
Kensington Palace has confirmed that this trip will be happening over the summer and that the Israeli, Jordanian and Palestinian authorities are quite excited.
The Duke of Cambridge is believed to be making the trip as part of celebrating Israel’s 70 years of independence. Surely, it is an anniversary to be celebrated.
While William is making history, Kate too will be serving in a very important role- a third-time mother to their new baby coming in April 2018. See the announcement below.
