You Only Need This One Household Object To Make Your Own Butter At Home

While we all are well-aware that butter comes from cows and margarine comes from the supermarket, there is another alternative that is absolutely perfect when you're in a pinch and need some butter quickly. You can whip up a batch of butter right at home and it's easier than ever to do.
All you need is one ingredient, one tool, and twenty minutes. Before long, you've got yourself a delicious butter that works perfectly for your cooking needs. This method almost seems too good to be true. All you truly need is a mason jar with a lid and some heavy cream. That's IT.
What you will need to do in order to create your own butter is incredibly simple. Take your mason jar and fill it halfway with the heavy whipping cream. This will leave room for your cream to slosh around. Screw on the lid as tightly as you possibly can. You don't want this lid coming unscrewed during the next step!

Begin shaking your mason jar as much as possible. Turn this into your afternoon or morning workout session if you'd like because there's going to be a lot of shaking going on! Expect the shaking to last roughly twenty minutes. During this time, feel free to take some breaks if necessary. After about ten minutes, the heavy cream will transform into almost a paint-like consistency. At this stage, you've made whipping cream. Since this isn't what your desired outcome is, you'll keep on shaking!
Within a moment's notice, your cream will begin to transform into butter right before your eyes. The liquid will start to separate from the solids. Grab a bowl and a fine-mesh strainer. Pour the entire jar into the strainer to separate the two forms. The liquid has turned into buttermilk which will be perfect for a big 'ole batch of buttermilk biscuits!

Make sure to rinse your butter before storing it. If you fail to do this step, your butter will turn bad in about a week. If you prefer your butter to be salted, add in a quick pinch of salt. Store in a container until ready for consumption. It's as simple as that!
