John was more than a little skeptical of Bone Digger's willingness to be friends with Abby at first. Abby, however, seemed determined to make friends with the lion. It did not take long for John's misgivings to be laid to rest because Bone Digger seemed to love Abby like she was his sister.

At 9 weeks old, Bone Digger was considerably bigger than his Daschund counterpart, but that did not stop Abby from playing with the lion every chance she got. Daschunds were known for their ridiculous fearlessness. Abby was soon bringing the rest of her doggie playmates to meet Bone Digger. The lion got along with all the dogs but had a special bond with Abby above the rest.

As Bone Digger got older and much bigger, his relationship with Abby grew all the more. The lion had needed companionship and he had finally found the perfect companion to share his life with, even if she was a bit of an unusual choice.
