2018 has been an exciting year for the British Royal Family; in less than two months, Prince Louis arrived, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tied the knot, and Zara Tindall welcomed her second baby girl. In October, fans will celebrate the wedding of Princess Eugenie and long-time boyfriend, Jack Brooksbank, and possibly celebrate the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s pregnancy announcement (that one is still far-fetched but wouldn’t it be wonderful?).
In the midst of such an exciting year, it seems as though the Royal Family is living their most spectacular year ever! But as we all know, things aren’t always what they seem. In a year of celebration, one Royal has had to work very hard- and very privately- to remain in good spirits.
Zara Tindall is Queen Elizabeth’s granddaughter and Prince William and Prince Harry’s first cousin. Zara is known for her Royal status as well as her equestrian and Olympic accolades. Married to a former rugby player, Mike Tindall, Zara and Mike are two the Royal Family’s more casual Royal Family members; they live their lives relatively privately in comparison to their family.
Zara and Mike have two daughters: Mia and Lena. Mia is four years old and Lena is only weeks old. But before the celebration of little Lena came massive mourning for Zara and Mike.
In 2016, a Royal spokesperson broke the tragic news that Zara and Mike had lost their second baby in the early months of the pregnancy. “Very sadly, Zara and Mike Tindall have lost their baby. At this difficult time, we ask that everyone respects their privacy.” The couple spent Christmas 2016 heartbroken over the loss of the unborn child.
In Fall 2017, it was learned that Zara and Mike were pregnant again! Fans rejoiced and hoped that this time around, Zara’s pregnancy would be smooth and in June 2018, their second daughter, Lena, was born. But only weeks later, the heartbreaking news was learned that once again had Zara and Mike mourning.
In late July 2018, it was discovered that Zara did not suffer one miscarriage between her two daughters, but two. Royal fans were completely shocked after learning the devastating truth that only weeks after losing their second baby, they lost their third. The second miscarriage was never disclosed for one very understanding reason: the pain was far too difficult to communicate.
Zara shared with U.K.’s Sunday Times, “You need to go through a period where you don’t talk about it because it’s too raw but, as with everything, time’s a great healer.”
2017 was a quiet year of mourning for the Royal couple but since the arrival of little Lena, Zara and Mike are rejoicing at the life of their two precious daughters. Please join us in prayer for the couple who has overcome such massive loss. We are so thrilled for Zara and Mike’s two daughters and pray for health for their entire family.
