A New Mexico family is currently trying to process an overwhelming amount of heartache, confusion, and frustration concerning their immediate family. Now, the police are actively seeking any help they can find in bringing closure to this case.
On December 18, a 26-year-old New Mexico man named D.J. (David) Zuber made a heartbreaking confession to his mother, Eva, that his one-year-old little girl, Anastazia, had tragically drowned in the bathtub.
This news, alone, would be near unbearable for anyone to hear, especially a grandmother. Something about the situation, though, didn’t seem to add up and immediately caused a great deal of suspicion.
Zuber shares two additional children, Athena and David Zuber III, with his 23-year-old girlfriend, Monique Romero. After Zuber broke the news of their one-year-old’s drowning, he and Romero, along with their two children and the body of their one-year-old have seemingly vanished.
According to police reports, they are unable to confirm if Anastazia is actually alive or safe. Their extended family has been thoroughly questioned and have told authorities that they have no idea as to the family’s whereabouts.
“The couple’s families could not confirm their whereabouts, leading police to enter all three children and their parents into the National Crime Information Center, an electronic clearinghouse of crime data that can be tapped into by virtually every criminal justice agency nationwide,” a report by PEOPLE states.
As of now, the police have released no leads in the case and are actively seeking the help of the public in locating this couple and their children.
“Romero is a Hispanic with brown hair and eyes, weighing 110 pounds and standing 4 feet 11 inches tall. Zuber is a white male with blonde-brown hair and blue eyes, weighing 140 pounds and standing 5 feet 7 inches tall,” reports detail.
If you or anyone you know has seen a couple by this description, you are urged to contact the police immediately at 505.242.2677.
Please keep this family, especially the children, in your thoughts and prayers. Please pray that they would be found and that the children would be safe!
