For the First Time in a Century, THIS Animal is Finally Being Returned to Banff National Park

After a whole century of being separated from this area, a herd of wild bison are finally returning to their original home in Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada.

These bison were known to roam in this region during the 1900's, but because of humans, they were almost wiped out completely.

For now, a group of 16 bison, some of which are pregnant, will be brought back as a plan to repopulate the national park with bison once again.

This return will indeed provide a great deal of positivity to the ecosystem within the park.

"Restoring wild bison is the righting of wrong that was caused in the 19th century when we almost eliminated wild bison as a species. Banff Park was involved in saving the species from extinction 100 years ago, and today it's involved in restoring this species as part of the landscape, as a wild animal, and that is really exciting," park conservationist Harvey Locke told CBC.
