Rory Feek Vows to Fulfill Late Wife's One Dying Wish

At this very same time in 2016, country singing duo, Joey and Rory, were sitting at home holding hands and watching the Grammy Awards.

The duo had been nominated for Best Country Duo/Group and were thrilled to even have been nominated.

Because of Joey Feek's illness, they were unable to attend the awards show.

Joey had been in a vigorous battle against stage IV cancer and her body was wearing down. They had tried every avenue and there seemed to be no options left.

She chose to spend her final days at home with her husband, Rory Feek, and their sweet little girl, Indiana. Rory kept a detailed, inspirational and uplifting blog, This Life I Live, on the status of Joey's health throughout her terrible cancer journey.

Merely weeks after the Grammy Awards show, Joey took her final breath here on this earth. While the family was overcome with insurmountable grief, Rory made it his mission to make sure that Joey's legacy would never be forgotten.

She would forever live on in their music, their precious girl, and by honoring every last wish Joey made before passing.

In a blog post, Rory penned:

"The morning after the award show, Joey looked into my eyes and said, 'I'm sorry we didn't win us a Grammy.' I smiled and said, 'That's okay.' Then jokingly, I added, '...there's always next year.' She smiled back at me and said, 'Yes...next year...' And then she talked about how if we were to ever be nominated again, that I have to promise her that I would go. And I told her that I would. Then her smile widened and she winked and said, 'And guess what...I'll know the winner before you do.'"

This year, 2017, the duo has been nominated for Best Roots Gospel Album. Rory will be fulfilling his precious wife's dying wish and will be in attendance for this awards show.

"Now I am even more thankful that I am going because she did want me to go," Rory told BILLBOARD in a recent interview.

We wish them the best of luck and hope that the achieve this very deserved Grammy. I know Joey will be smiling down from heaven during the awards show.
