Young Actor Invites Elderly Neighbor to Move in. When You Hear His Reason Why, it Will Bring You to Tears

Friendship can bloom in the most unlikely ways. 31-year-old Chris Salvatore and 89-year-old Norma Cook are living proof of that statement.

The two first met around four years ago when Christ moved into the home next door to Norma. After a few initial meetings in passing, the two became pretty fast friends and enjoyed spending time in each other's company.

They would visit each other often, and even celebrate events together like birthdays and Christmas.

One day, Norma received the news that she had been diagnosed with leukemia and didn't have a sole to turn to. She had no family nearby and felt alone. Thankfully, she did have one friend she knew she could count on: Chris.

Because of Norma's condition, she needs around-the-clock care. Chris quickly turned to social media in attempts to raise money for his dear friend. They quickly were able to raise thousands of dollars!

"She's like family," Chris said emotionally. "She's my grandmother."

When all the money ran out, Chris knew there was more he could do to help. He asked Norma to move in with him so that he could help give her the care she so desperately needed.

"As much as I'm here helping her, she's helped me tremendously. It's really brought me back to what's important: family, love, and human kindness," Chris said.
