Dog That Nobody Wanted Does The Remarkable When She Becomes The Neighborhood Hero
This is Kailey, a shepherd mix who was waiting to be adopted for over a year, but nobody wanted her due to her skittish ways. She had obviously had a bad past and you could tell it by her behavior. She was timid and would snap at people when they would pet her and she didn't know them.
But her foster parents saw something special in her and knew she just needed to find the right home. So her foster mom went on her Facebook page and posted about the dog she had come to know well. Suzy Chandler saw the post and she felt instantly connected to Kailey and she responded to the post. “The story of what she had been through and it just pulled on our heartstrings, we just thought we would be the perfect people for her,” said Suzy. “It was a perfect match.”
Suzy picked up Kailey and brought her home. Kailey finally had a place to call her own but she had a road ahead of her. She still struggled with accepting human touch but was overall loving her new home and owners.
One morning when she started to act strangely it alarmed the Chandlers. “All of a sudden she just started barking and looking at us and growling, like trying to get our attention and I said well what’s the matter with her,” said Suzy.
Suzy took Kailey outside and Kailey started to drag her to a certain area on the side of the house. “She pulled me directly over to the side yard,” said Suzy. “Right away I smelled overpowering gas and a loud whooshing sound.” Immediately she called 911 and fire rescue was dispatched. Fire crews determined that they needed to do air monitoring checks on the apartment complex next to the Chandlers home.
Suzy said, “I just don’t take the chances on people lives like this, it is a dangerous situation." Had it not been for Kailey, who knows what would've happened “She is our hero dog because we do not know what the outcome could have been,” said Kailey’s owner, Suzy. Check out the video below:
