Homeless Orphan's Decision That Saved Two Lives Will Bring You to Tears
People who beg for money on the side of the road are often viewed as lesser people. They are typically treated as criminals, and the average person tries their absolute best to not even look at them, so they don’t encourage them. John Thuo was a young orphan begging on the streets of Kenya, when everything changed.
One fateful day, John approached a car to ask for money and when he looked inside his life began to change. Inside the vehicle on that day was a woman named Gladys Kamande, a 32 year old woman who was hooked up to oxygen tanks. John began to cry as he learned that Gladys’ lungs had collapsed, and she needed 7 million Kenyan shillings for a surgery to heal her. He was so moved he gave her all the money he had collected that day - about 100 Kenyan shillings.
When an onlooker saw what was happening, they began to take photographs of the situation and posted them online. Donations began to pour in, and Gladys was able to fly to India and get the surgery she so desperately needed. The happy endings don’t stop there however, and due to his kind nature, John was able to find a home of his own. Nissy Wambugu adopted John, and he now has the opportunity to start studying for a future.
