In the midst of one of the most revolutionary love stories in history, Lifetime network presents ‘Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance.’ In the touching film, the private love story of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is unveiled, and it’s just as wonderful as you’d ever imagined it to be.
The talented actress that played the beautiful Meghan Markle is the equally as radiant Parisa Fitz- Henley. We had a chance to sit down with Parissa herself where we learned how her part as Meghan was carefully crafted. From the looks of the film, Parisa's role as Meghan appeared to be genuinely and perfectly captured. Her secrets for capturing Meghan Markle are just as endearing as Meghan herself.
In the film, Parissa emulated Meghan’s innocence and boldness so well. While she hadn’t known Meghan personally prior to filming, she had begun to study her every move for the part. Her facial expressions, her body language, and her voice matched Meghan Markle's flawlessly. Farther from the surface, Parisa shared that she and Murray (the actor who played Prince Harry) were loyal to the souls of Harry and Meghan, rather than the icons that they are now.
Their dedication to discovering Harry and Meghan as individuals were never comprised. Parisa and Murray made sure to immerse themselves in genuine conversations with one another, in hopes that they would find the human connection that Prince Harry and Meghan have with each other.
Because the relationship between Harry and Meghan has been so private, they were able to capitalize on the reality that beneath the everyone's public life is a very real and personal soul. Parisa shared that her role as Meghan was fine-tuned by the genuine conversation and connection that she had with Murray. She shared, “We would go on walks together and share meals together where we get to know how each other would respond to scenarios that both Harry and Meghan were in. Through conversations, we learned how to support each other. And I think you can see that in the movie.”
Parisa also shared one very special and completely unexpected trick to so flawlessly capture Meghan Markle; she did something that so many forget to do- she trusted herself. “I do my work but I let go of the results.” Parisa shared that “being detached from the results and opinions can be tricky, but it’s crucial to my work.”
Similar to Meghan Markle, Parisa’s work was genuine with an honest effort to connect deeply with another person. You can see her dedication to the personhood of Meghan so clearly in her part as Meghan and it’s truly a beautiful relationship that developed.
