In November 2017, Carrie Underwood- one of the world’s biggest name in Country music- worried millions when she endured what she called a “freak accident.” Without sharing too much, Carrie told social media that she fell down some stairs one night at her home and broke her wrist and her face.
Carrie’s response to her accident frightened the world. She warned her fans that she “might not look quite the same” before she practically went into hiding for more than 3 months. Fans were deeply concerned after she shared not only did she break her wrist, but she also had to have more than 40 stitches in her face.
The superstar shared very little about her accident and recovery which led her fans to believe she was deeply wounded and traumatized by her accident. After sharing the initial news, she shared that some details were kept private and that she would be sharing those until she was ready. She told People, that there was “Another part of the story that I haven’t been ready to talk about since I have still been living it and there has been much uncertainty as to how things will end up... It’s crazy how a freak random accident can change your life.”
Carrie kept an incredibly low profile after the accident and made almost no remarks on the matter of her fall or her appearance. That’s why when it was announced that she’d be performing at the Academy of Country Music Awards, fans were thrilled and eager to see the singer.
Not having any clue what she’d look like, her fans braced themselves to see a scarred Carrie Underwood. However, when she stepped on stage to perform her song, “Cry Pretty,” everyone was shocked!
Carrie was simply stunning. Fans were completely shocked to see that she looked absolutely no different from before her accident! Carrie’s performed her song with powerful energy and gave it all she had, although her fans seemed to be more concerned with her looks than her performance.
Carrie looks beautiful! She is grateful that her injuries were not as scarring as she feared they would be, and she says that she is blessed to have healed up so well. We’re happy to see her back performing and feeling like herself!
