Heartbroken Celebrities Pay 'R-E-S-P-E-C-T' To Beloved Queen Of Soul - First Up: Stevie Wonder's Sad Goodbye

As the world waits for news on the condition of ailing singing superstar Aretha Franklin, beloved friends she earned through a lifetime of making beautiful music are stopping in at the Grammy-winner’s home to spend some time with the iconic star. The Music Hall of Fame standout is reportedly receiving hospice care In her Detroit home and is said to be ‘gravely ill.’

Fox News is reporting that “Stevie Wonder visited Franklin at her home on Tuesday. The singer's publicist Gwendolyn Quinn told The Associated Press on Tuesday that the Rev. Jesse Jackson and Franklin's ex-husband, actor Glynn Turman, also visited the star, who is seriously ill.”


“Franklin canceled planned concerts earlier this year after she was ordered by her doctor to stay off the road and rest up. The 76-year-old announced plans to retire last year, saying she would perform at ‘some select things.’

After news broke over the weekend that Franklin was ‘gravely ill’ “Fans, friends, and musicians influenced by Franklin offered positive words to the iconic singer...including Rod Stewart, Mariah Carey, Chaka Khan, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Tyler Perry, Missy Elliott and Wayne Brady.”

Other artists are paying tribute to the legend from the stage.

Fox reports, “At her concert in Detroit on Monday night with Jay-Z, Beyonce thanked Franklin for her ‘beautiful music’ and said, ‘we love you.’


Even former president Bill Clinton took to Twitter to send his and Hillary’s tribute to the First Lady of Soul.

“Like people all around the world, Hillary and I are thinking about Aretha Franklin tonight & listening to her music that has been such an important part of our lives the last 50 years. We hope you’ll lift her up by listening and sharing her songs that have meant the most to you.”


We are so happy to see that the initial reports that Aretha Franklin was near death, were exaggerated and that we still have the talented musician in our world.

Again, our prayers go out for Ms. Franklin’s comfort and peace during this difficult time, and we hope that her spirits are being buoyed by such an immense outpouring of love, honor, and most of all, ‘R-E-S-P-E-C-T.’
