Our days on earth are numbered, and we only have a short amount of time to make a lasting impact on the world around us. Some fail to realize the treasure of their influence while others take it by the horns and impact generations globally.
“Gone but never forgotten.” That phrase perfectly sums up how the world feels about the loss of the beloved Princess Diana. She was the kind of soul that never took a moment for granted. She loved her family more than life itself and would do anything for her fellow man. She was the epitome of a heroic, bold role model that the world aches for to this very day.
Though her time on earth was cut short, she made the most of every opportunity before her. Because of her diligence and appreciation for the role before her, she was able to change hundreds of thousands of lives across the globe.
A dear friend of hers recently spoke out about her, and his words couldn’t possibly be truer. Elton John and Princess Diana had a long-running friendship that they each treasured dearly. On the anniversary of her death, he always takes a moment to share his gratitude and love for her, reminding the world one more time that her memory is still alive more than ever before.
Elton John recently had the opportunity to do a write up for Prince Harry for Time’s Top 100 Most Influential People. His words were nothing short of breathtaking.
“I first met an extremely shy and sweet Prince Harry at a private lunch at Kensington Palace, given by his mother, Princess Diana, for Gianni Versace and me many years ago. What a joy it has been to see that young boy grow to inherit his mother’s warmth, sense of humor, and courage to stand up and champion the causes he truly believes in,” he wrote.
He continued to mention Harry’s valiant effort to support causes that mean the most to him, just has his mother did when she was alive. He finished by saying, “Prince Harry has that rare ability to walk into a room full of strangers and make everyone feel comfortable and at ease. As he has grown in maturity, I have watched him take on these causes with the remarkable skill to see and communicate how it truly feels for the people he is trying to help.”
Though the closing statement isn’t a direct statement regarding Diana, it’s certainly a nod toward her genuine heart and how she raised her boys to always fight for what they believed in and to spread warmth and love everywhere they go.
May her memory continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren for decades to come.
